This Dell laptop features a 12th-generation Intel Core i3 processor, 8GB of RAM, 256GB of SSD storage, and a 15.6-inch display with a 120Hz refresh rate. It’s a spec sheet we rarely see at this price point: Most cheap, entry-level PCs under $300 have dinky Intel Celeron N Series CPUs, 4GB of RAM, pokier eMMC flash storage, and 60Hz refresh rates. It’s down to $299.99 on Dell’s website — that’s not much of a discount on its MSRP, but it’s a fantastic price for these specs.

Why we like it

The 13-inch MacBook Air from late 2020 nabbed a Mashable Choice Award upon release for its zippy M1 chip, quiet fanless design, and 18-hour battery life. Why we like it

Very few other laptops can compete with the 15.6-inch Samsung Galaxy Book3 360 when it comes to battery life: It offers up to 22 hours per charge. (The only machine that leaves it in the dust is the 16-inch MacBook Pro with an M2 Max chip, which has a starting price of $3,499.) The 1TB model with a 13th-gen Intel Core i7 CPU and 16GB of RAM is now on sale for only $949.99 at Best Buy during its weekend-long Microsoft 3-Day Sale, which takes $600 off its $1,549.99 MSRP. That’s a match of its deal there during the retailer’s 48-Hour Flash Sale (an answer to Amazon’s October Prime Day), which required a paid My Best Buy membership.
